On the night of Thursday, July 31, Russian authorities reported a massive drone attack on a number of regions of the country. In particular, targets in the Penza and Volgograd regions came under fire.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense, the governors of the relevant regions, and local sources.<\/p>\n

Volgograd region<\/strong>
According to Governor Andriy Bocharov, the region allegedly managed to repel a massive attack on transport and energy infrastructure facilities. According to him, there were no casualties.<\/p>\n

In the Svitloyarsky district, debris from downed drones fell onto railway tracks – train traffic near the Tinguta station has been temporarily stopped, and sappers are working on the site. No damage to the tracks was recorded. At the same time, in the Kotelnykovsky district, the attack disrupted the gas supply to approximately 65 private homes.<\/p>\n

The Astra Telegram channel reports a fire as a result of a strike in the Kotelnikovo area.<\/p>\n

Penza region<\/strong>
Local authorities also confirmed a drone attack on an industrial facility in Penza. The head of the region, Oleg Melnychenko, reported a fire on the territory of one of the enterprises. According to him, there were no casualties or serious damage.<\/p>\n

“Another attack by enemy drones was carried out on one of our industrial enterprises. There is a fire that is being contained. I am at the scene,” the governor said.<\/p>\n

He also reported on the temporary shutdown of mobile Internet in the region, explaining this by “the need to help the military more effectively suppress drones.”<\/p>\n

Other regions
The Russian Defense Ministry stated that 32 drones were allegedly destroyed on the night of July 31. According to the official version:<\/p>\n

11 \u2014 over the Volgograd region,<\/p>\n

5 each – over Voronezh and Belgorod,<\/p>\n

2 each – over Tambovskaya and Rostovskaya,<\/p>\n

7 \u2014 over occupied Crimea.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, on the night of Tuesday, July 29, the city of Salsk in the Rostov region of the Russian Federation was attacked by drones. As a result of the attack, a freight train caught fire and railway schedules were disrupted<\/a> . Some trains were damaged.<\/p>\n

As reported, on the night of July 26 , drones of the Security Service of Ukraine struck the city of Stavropol in the Krasnodar Territory of Russia.<\/a> The target of the attack was the Signal radio plant.<\/p>\n
