Kesh Patel, director of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, has come across a huge amount of classified materials related to the investigation into former President Donald Trump’s alleged ties to the Russian Federation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> Fox News, citing sources familiar with the situation.<\/p>\n

According to journalists, the documents were found in a special room for the destruction of confidential materials located at the FBI headquarters. Several bags intended for burning contained thousands of pages of internal documentation.<\/p>\n

Among the seized items is a classified appendix to former special counsel John Durham’s final report, which contains key intelligence that formed the basis of his investigation.<\/p>\n

The final decision on whether to declassify the appendix is reportedly to be made by the heads of several intelligence agencies, including CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, Acting NSA Director William Hartman, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and Patel himself. After that, the document is planned to be handed over to Senator Chuck Grassley, the chairman of the Judiciary Committee, who will be able to make it public.<\/p>\n

Sources familiar with the contents of the appendix claim that it states that American intelligence received credible signals from abroad that indicated the FBI’s involvement in promoting the narrative of collusion between Trump and the Kremlin even before the official start of the investigation.<\/p>\n

One of the interlocutors noted that although at that moment it was difficult to assess the significance of this information, it later became apparent that it reflected the bureau’s subsequent actions with astonishing accuracy.<\/p>\n

According to him, the publication of the application may confirm the version of the existence of a conspiracy in the US government aimed at supporting Hillary Clinton’s election campaign by defaming Trump.<\/p>\n

He also mentioned that less than a week after receiving this intelligence, the FBI launched Operation Crossfire Hurricane, a formal investigation into possible ties between the Trump campaign and Russia.<\/p>\n

Patel had previously said in an interview in June that he had discovered a room full of previously unknown documents and computer media, but he declined to reveal the contents.<\/p>\n
