It is established in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a moment that believers consider not death, but a transition to eternal life. In addition to dietary restrictions, the fast imposes a number of mandatory prohibitions on behavior and lifestyle.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> The dates of the fast have changed due to the transition to the new Julian calendar: previously, the Assumption Fast began on August 14 and lasted until the 27th.<\/p>\n<p> Fasting symbolizes spiritual preparation for a great church holiday. In terms of the severity of restrictions, it is comparable to Great Lent.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>During the fasting period, you absolutely cannot:<\/strong><br \/> to quarrel or gossip,<\/p>\n<p> to rage, insult and slander others,<\/p>\n<p> to refuse those who need help,<\/p>\n<p> to offend loved ones and to be offended yourself.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>It is also prohibited to:<\/strong><br \/> wedding celebrations &#8211; during the Assumption Fast, no church performs a marriage ritual (without a wedding, the marriage is considered invalid).
