US President Donald Trump announced a new visit by special envoy Stephen Witkoff to Russia during a briefing in the Oval Office.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Trump confirmed<\/a> that Witkoff will first go to Israel and then to Russia.<\/p>\n

“And then he goes to Russia, believe it or not,” he said.<\/p>\n

Witkoff’s previous meetings with Russian officials have been part of the Trump administration’s diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions between the two countries. There is no word yet on the specific goals or topics of the upcoming trip to Russia.<\/p>\n
