The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) have exposed a corruption scheme for the purchase of drones and electronic warfare equipment.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced by<\/a> the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.<\/p>\n

In particular, the President heard a report from the Director of NABU Semyon Krivonos and the Head of SAP Oleksandr Klimenko.<\/p>\n

“One of the people’s deputies of Ukraine, as well as heads of district and city administrations, and servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine were exposed for taking a bribe. I am grateful to the anti-corruption agencies for their work,” the president informed.<\/p>\n

Zelensky stressed that there can only be zero tolerance for corruption, clear teamwork to expose corruption, and ultimately a fair sentence.<\/p>\n

Subsequently, the SAP press service<\/a> disclosed the details of the exposure. In particular, among those exposed for taking a bribe are a current people’s deputy of Ukraine, heads of district and city military civil administrations and servicemen of the National Guard.<\/p>\n

The essence of the scheme was to conclude government contracts with supplier companies at deliberately inflated prices.<\/p>\n

“Up to 30% of the contract amount was returned to the participants in the crime in the form of undue benefits,” law enforcement officials reported.<\/p>\n

Currently, 4 people have been detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation. They promised to make the details public over time.<\/p>\n

“It should be noted that this operation was made possible by Law No. 4560-IX, signed by the President of Ukraine, which eliminated a number of barriers in the work of anti-corruption bodies and contributed to the stability of their activities in sensitive investigations for the state. This operation is an example of how institutional support and teamwork at the highest level contribute to Ukraine’s independent anti-corruption infrastructure,” NABU reported. <\/p>\n
