This comes amid reduced discounts on Russian oil and warnings from US President Donald Trump to countries that continue to trade with Moscow.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> This is reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/energy\/indias-ioc-buys-7-million-barrels-us-mideast-crude-after-russian-oil-pause-2025-08-04\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Reuters<\/a> .<\/p>\n<p> According to journalists, India&#8217;s largest oil refiner has purchased 4.5 million barrels of American crude, 500,000 barrels of Canadian Western Canadian Select (WCS) and 2 million barrels of Das, produced in Abu Dhabi. The purchase was made through an international tender and is scheduled for delivery in September.<\/p>\n<p> The sources of the publication note that the volumes of this deal exceed the usual purchases and are partly intended to replace supplies from Russia. Over the past week, state-owned Indian refineries, including IOC, Hindustan Petroleum, Bharat Petroleum and Mangalore Refinery, have not placed any new orders for Russian oil at all.<\/p>\n<p> It is known that the American companies Phillips 66 and Equinor will ship 1 million barrels of West Texas Intermediate Midland (WTI Midland) oil each, Mercuria will ship 2 million barrels of the same grade, and Vitol will ship 1 million barrels of WTI Midland and WCS. The supply of 2 million barrels of Das will be carried out by Trafigura.<\/p>\n<p> Recall that India is the world&#8217;s third largest oil importer and the largest buyer of Russian marine crude. This position of Beijing directly affects the financing of the Russian military machine and creates new challenges for Ukraine in the war with the aggressor.<\/p>\n<p> As a reminder, US President <a href=\"https:\/\/prm.ua\/ssha-karaiut-indiiu-tramp-zaprovadyv-novi-myta-cherez-zakupivli-v-rf\/\">Donald Trump announced the introduction of new tariffs for India<\/a> : from August 1, the country will have to pay 25%.
