Major Russian automakers are massively switching to a 4-day work week due to the general decline of the industry.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the Center for Countering Disinformation.<\/p>\n

The Likinsky Bus Plant (LIAZ – ed.) announced a reduction in the working week the day before. This decision was caused by a 60% drop in bus sales in the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n

“Earlier, one of the largest truck manufacturers, KAMAZ, and the Gorky Automobile Plant (GAZ – ed.), announced the transition to a 4-day work week. Starting in September, the largest passenger car manufacturer, AvtoVAZ, plans to shorten the work week,” the Central Labor Relations Board noted.<\/p>\n

It is noted that the collapse of the automobile market in the Russian Federation is a direct consequence of the war, sanctions, and deepening crises in the Russian economy.<\/p>\n

Although Russian propaganda is trying to convince Russians that the auto industry in Russia is recovering, in reality the war with Ukraine is killing non-military production.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that business activity in Russia’s industrial sector fell in July 2025 to its lowest level since March 2022<\/a> .<\/p>\n

As reported, up to 20% of car dealerships in Russia may close by the end of the year.<\/a><\/p>\n

In addition, Russia’s largest automaker AvtoVAZ has suspended production from July 29 to August 11 inclusive<\/a> . The official reason is “corporate vacation,” but in reality the decision is related to a critical situation on the market: the company’s warehouses are overflowing with unsold cars.<\/p>\n
