Ukraine is undergoing an unprecedented expansion of defense production \u2014 currently, the sector employs about 800 companies, including 100 state-owned and over 700 private ones. Over the past three years, weapons production has increased 35-fold, and howitzer production has increased 15-fold. In times of war, the country is relying on its own missiles, armored vehicles, and drones to reduce dependence on foreign supplies.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced by Yuriy Sak, an advisor to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Independent<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n

It is noted that since 2014, Ukraine has been actively developing its defense industry, responding to constant threats from Russia. The country already has about 800 enterprises working for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: 100 state-owned and over 700 private.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The growth in production capacity is impressive. If in 2022 Ukraine produced only one howitzer per month, now it is already 15. In general, weapons production volumes have increased 35 times over the past three years. The drone sector is actively developing: this year it is planned to produce about 5 million units of various types – from reconnaissance to strike with a range of up to 2,000 km.<\/p>\n

Ukraine has already established mass production of the Neptun, Palanytsia, Peklo, and Ruta missiles. In just one year, missile production has increased eightfold, and by 2025, the production of 3,000 cruise and unmanned missiles is planned. At the same time, development of new systems is ongoing, in particular the hybrid drone-missile Bars with a range of 700\u2013800 km.<\/p>\n

Due to the constant threat of strikes by the Russian Federation, production facilities are dispersed and hidden. Often, instead of one large factory, several smaller facilities are created to maintain production rates in the event of an attack. Such enterprises are guarded by air defense and special services.<\/p>\n

An example is the secret production of the BTR-4E \u201cBucephal\u201d APCs, which after the destruction of the Kharkiv plant were transferred to three hidden sites in different regions. One of them produces four armored personnel carriers per month with the prospect of increasing volumes.<\/p>\n

According to Sak, Ukraine’s strategic goal is complete self-sufficiency in armaments. In the face of unpredictability of international support and constant attacks by the Russian Federation, its own defense industry becomes a key factor for survival and victory.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that after the first signals of a decrease in support from the United States, Ukraine relied on its own forces.<\/a><\/p>\n

The day before, it became known that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said thatin 2025 Ukraine will produce more drones than expected.<\/a><\/p>\n

Recall that Ukraine signed an agreement with the American company Swift Beat for the joint production of hundreds of thousands of drones<\/a> , including interceptors.<\/p>\n
