The occupation of part of Ukrainian lands by the Russians could be the price of Ukraine’s survival as a sovereign state.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was stated by<\/a> Czech President Petr Pavel in an interview with the BBC.<\/p>\n

According to Pavel, it would be unfair for the West to pressure Ukraine to immediately liberate all occupied territories. He also noted that the West does not want the destruction of the Ukrainian nation.<\/p>\n

“Ukraine is not currently in a situation where it could liberate the areas occupied by Russia in the near future, even with the support of the West, without major human losses,” the Czech President said.<\/p>\n

Pavel stated that if the price of Ukraine’s survival is that part of the territory will be temporarily occupied, this is an acceptable price.<\/p>\n

“We will never legally recognize these occupied territories as Russian,” the president noted.<\/p>\n

He also expressed the opinion that military assistance to Ukraine should be continued. However, he noted that the war cannot be won on the battlefield.<\/p>\n

“It is in the interests of both sides of the Atlantic to exert much greater economic pressure on Russia. This pressure is very effective in terms of persuasion. I believe that given the current state of the Russian economy, the Russians will not be able to withstand economic pressure for long. Therefore, sooner or later, if these measures are implemented, Russia will have no choice but to sit down at the negotiating table, which it has so far refused to do,” Pavel said.<\/p>\n

Recall, \u201cUkrainian Armored Vehicles\u201d and the Czech arms manufacturer Czechoslovak Group (CSG) have agreed on the joint production of 155-mm shells and other large-caliber ammunition in Ukraine<\/a> . It is scheduled to start in 2025.<\/p>\n
