The European Union is preparing to impose sanctions on China over its role in supporting Russia in the war against Ukraine, Politico reports, citing diplomatic sources.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The decision follows a recent Reuters investigation that found Chinese drone engines were being shipped to Russia through shell companies masquerading as industrial refrigeration units to circumvent international sanctions.<\/p>\n

According to the EU diplomat, Brussels was informed about the transfer of drones from Beijing even before the media publication, but after August it plans to officially push for the introduction of restrictive measures against China.<\/p>\n

The source stressed that China is increasing its support for Russia in both quantitative and qualitative terms, and without this assistance the course of the war would have looked completely different.<\/p>\n
