Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has no intention of stopping hostilities against Ukraine, despite sanctions pressure from Donald Trump. The ultimatum issued by the United States expires on August 8, but Moscow shows no willingness to compromise.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> Reuters, citing sources close to Kremlin circles.<\/p>\n

According to the informants, Putin continues to focus on capturing four Ukrainian regions \u2014 Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia, and Kherson \u2014 that Russia illegally considers part of its territory. Only after achieving these goals is he ready to talk about negotiations.<\/p>\n

According to Reuters sources, the Kremlin does not want to openly spoil relations with Trump, but is convinced that military tasks are more important.<\/p>\n

“Putin values contact with Trump and does not seek to irritate him, but he will not end the war just because Trump demands it,” one of the sources quoted.<\/p>\n

Also, according to informants, Putin is confident that the West’s sanctions pressure has already lost its effectiveness – after more than three years of full-scale war, the Kremlin considers itself adapted to new economic realities.<\/p>\n

Sources add that Russian military advisors are convincing Putin that the situation on the front will change in the coming months: they say that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not be able to withstand the onslaught for another 2\u20133 months, after which the defense will “move.”<\/p>\n

Recall that Moscow is once again trying to avoid direct negotiations on ending the war against Ukraine, hiding behind bureaucratic formulations. Russian President Vladimir Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Monday that Vladimir Putin “does not rule out” a personal meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky – but only after completing some “expert work.”<\/a><\/p>\n
