Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that following his conversation with Donald Trump, Russia appears more prepared to consider a ceasefire. However, he cautioned that the Kremlin must not be allowed to deceive either Ukraine or the United States. Zelenskyy also highlighted recent successes of the Ukrainian army near Kursk, which reportedly compelled Moscow to seek assistance from the DPRK.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He spoke about this in an evening video address<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Kremlin\u2019s stance on the war has shifted following diplomatic efforts, including talks with US President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt appears that Russia is now more inclined towards a ceasefire. The pressure on them is working. But the most important thing is that they do not deceive us \u2014 neither Ukraine nor the United States,\u201d Zelenskyy emphasized.<\/p>\n

The Head of State also marked the anniversary of the Ukrainian operation near Kursk, one of the most successful offensive campaigns carried out by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on enemy territory. According to him, this operation changed the course of the war.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday marks the anniversary of the Kursk operation \u2014 a truly historic Ukrainian campaign. We took the fight to the territory of the aggressor state and continue to operate there… This forced the Russians not only to withdraw their forces from the Donetsk region but also to request assistance from North Korea,\u201d the president said.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Ukrainian forces captured over a thousand Russian soldiers during the Kursk operation, which helped unblock a series of complex prisoner exchanges.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur troops captured more than a thousand Russian prisoners in Kursk \u2014 so many that it allowed us to unblock even the most complicated exchanges,\u201d Zelenskyy added.<\/p>\n

The President stressed that despite Moscow\u2019s apparent change in tone, Ukraine must remain vigilant and maintain a defensive posture \u2014 both on the battlefield and in diplomatic efforts.<\/p>\n
