Ukrainian specialists have developed an unmanned system for intercepting and destroying Shahed and Gerber-type strike drones. The new drone is capable of operating in the dark, quickly detecting targets, and physically destroying them before they approach infrastructure or populated areas.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported by<\/a> the publication “Military”.<\/p>\n

The material notes that the complex was created as part of the defense forces’ adaptation to changes in drone attack tactics, in particular to the mass use of kamikaze drones. Engineers paid special attention to the system’s night-time efficiency and rapid response to targets.<\/p>\n

“Its key advantage is the ability to quickly detect and physically destroy an air threat before it approaches infrastructure or populated areas,” the report says.<\/p>\n

During development, the specifics of using the Shahed were taken into account, which allows for more effective operation in difficult conditions, in particular at night and at low altitudes.<\/p>\n

It is also reported that the development team is working on implementing a final guidance system. This will allow the drone to be fully automated and reduce the need for personnel participation.<\/p>\n

“The implementation of such solutions is another step in strengthening the protection of Ukrainian skies. At the same time, it is a signal to the enemy that Ukraine is not only defending itself, but also technologically ahead of it in certain components of modern combat,” added Military.<\/p>\n

Recall that Ukraine presented a new model of defense development – the Mangust jet drone, designed to intercept high-speed air targets, in particular enemy kamikaze drones Shahed-136<\/a> . It was created as a reusable platform with the ability to refuel and relaunch.<\/p>\n

As previously reported, Ukrainian company Odd Systems, known for producing Kurbas thermal imaging cameras, has announced a strategic partnership with leading Danish defense company Terma. The main goal of the partnership is to create an affordable air defense system to combat enemy drones.<\/a><\/p>\n
