In the Lviv region, military counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine detained a Russian informant who was spying on the airfields of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and was planning to transfer the data to the enemy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This<\/span> was reported by<\/span><\/a> the press service of the SBU.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Russian agent turned out to be a 38-year-old local resident who was recruited via a Telegram channel. Her task was to identify airfields where Ukrainian aircraft were based and install a hidden video camera there with additional power and remote access for the occupiers.<\/span><\/p>\n

As noted by the SBU, in this way the Russians planned to monitor the presence and movement of Ukrainian military helicopters.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, the secret service officers exposed the suspect at the initial stage and also detained her when she tried to install a video camera near a potential target.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The SBU military counterintelligence neutralized the spy devices in advance and carried out special measures to secure the Defense Forces locations. During the search, a smartphone with evidence of criminal activity was seized from the attacker,” the press service said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Security Service investigators informed the detainee of suspicion of unauthorized dissemination of information about the deployment and movement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, committed during martial law. The woman is currently being held without bail. She faces up to 8 years in prison.<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed and detained an instructor major from one of the air brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine<\/a> , who turned out to be an agent of Russian intelligence. The suspect was preparing strikes on Ukrainian airfields where F-16, Mirage 2000 and Su-24 aircraft are based.<\/p>\n
