SBU Chief Vasyl Malyuk revealed new details about the preparation of the unique special operation “Pavutyna” (“Web”), which combined intelligence efforts, complex logistics, and advanced technologies. The operation involved delivering 150 combat FPV drones deep into the enemy\u2019s rear, creating a legendary company inside Russia, and deploying innovative technical solutions capable of functioning even at \u201340\u00b0C.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He said this in an interview with the TV channel “We-Ukraine”<\/a>.<\/p>\n

How did the idea for “The Spider Web” come about?<\/strong><\/p>\n

SBU Chief Vasyl Malyuk emphasized that the core of the operation was the delivery of 150 combat FPV drones deep into the Russian rear. To accomplish this, Ukrainian agents established a fictitious logistics company in Chelyabinsk, renting offices and warehouses right next to the local FSB headquarters, and purchased five trucks. The drivers, unaware of the true mission, transported carefully prepared cargo, including hunting lodges that concealed the equipment.<\/p>\n

The Seven Circles of Logistics Hell<\/strong><\/p>\n

Each hunting lodge was fully autonomous, equipped with Eco Flow batteries, solar panels, and supplies to ensure uninterrupted drone operation even in temperatures as low as -40\u00b0C. Organizing such a complex transportation network involved overcoming dozens of challenges, including the covert import of sanctioned goods into Russia.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe went through seven circles of hell to achieve the result,\u201d Malyuk admitted.<\/p>\n

Drones with Unique Equipment<\/strong><\/p>\n

Though the drones appeared ordinary, they were equipped with multiple communication channels and a warhead specially designed for the operation. Each drone carried two warheads containing 800 grams of explosive mixture with a cumulative-explosive effect, capable of burning through the aircraft fuselage and causing devastating internal explosions.<\/p>\n

Return of the Heroes and Communication with the President<\/strong><\/p>\n

Malyuk highlighted that ensuring the safe return of the agents to Ukraine was a separate mission. After completing the delivery, the operatives exited Russian territory and, once in a secure location, received personal thanks from the head of the SBU.<\/p>\n

He also emphasized that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was kept constantly informed about the operation\u2019s preparation, showing keen interest in the details and occasionally speeding up certain stages.<\/p>\n
