Donald Trump will use the topic of sanctions during a conversation with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was stated by<\/a> US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant, Sky News reports.<\/p>\n

“Trump will make it clear to Putin that ‘all options are on the table’ in the context of a possible easing or tightening of sanctions against Russia,” the US Treasury Secretary said.<\/p>\n

He also clarified that US sanctions against the Russian Federation may be strengthened, may be weakened, and may have expiration dates.<\/p>\n

Bessent added that European countries should join the US in these sanctions and help create more leverage over Russia.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, Trump announced that he would travel to Russia on Friday, August 15, where he plans to meet with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin.<\/a> It later became known that Trump and Putin would meet at Elmendorf-Richardson Air Force Base in Anchorage.<\/a><\/p>\n
