During a discussion with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders, US President Donald Trump suggested that a potential peace deal between Ukraine and Russia “needs to involve a territorial exchange.” Zelensky responded that “Putin cannot be trusted” and insisted on a trilateral summit involving the US, Ukraine, and Russia.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Trump said that, in his opinion, as part of a possible peace agreement between Kyiv and Moscow, “an exchange of territories is needed.”<\/p>\n

He emphasized that he is “not from this region” and cannot make final decisions about the territories, but believes that border issues should be the subject of direct negotiations between the president of Ukraine and the Russian dictator.<\/p>\n

“Trump said that Vladimir and Vladimir should discuss territories with each other, not with him,” the publication quotes the source as saying.<\/p>\n

According to another source, President Zelenskyy told Trump that “Putin cannot be trusted.”<\/p>\n

The article notes that Ukrainian and European participants in the conversation were unsure of Trump’s true goals in the upcoming talks with Putin, which are scheduled to take place in Alaska. However, it is noted that this meeting may meet their objectives.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the Russian president has repeatedly rejected the idea of an unconditional ceasefire.<\/p>\n

During the discussion, Zelensky also stressed that no diplomatic decision can be made without Ukraine’s participation.
