Ahead of a planned summit with US President Donald Trump in Alaska, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has made a sweeping statement on the war in Ukraine. He claims that the current US administration is “actively and sincerely” working to end the fighting and find mutually acceptable agreements that could form the basis for a lasting peace.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported by Russian media.<\/p>\n

It is noted that on the eve of the meeting with Trump, Vladimir Putin held a meeting in the Kremlin, during which he commented on the process of peace negotiations to end the war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n

According to him, the US is making “quite vigorous efforts” to stop the fighting and find a solution that takes into account the interests of all parties to the conflict.<\/p>\n

“They are trying to reach agreements that could ensure long-term conditions for peace – both between our countries, and in Europe and the world as a whole,” Putin said.<\/p>\n

In addition, he noted that further stages of the negotiations may cover issues of strategic offensive arms control, which, in his opinion, would be an important step for global stability.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the Russian government plane Il-96-300 of the special forces unit “Russia”, flight RSD 381, took off from Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport and headed for Anchorage<\/a> , a city in the American state of Alaska, where talks at the highest level are planned.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that US President Donald Trump has insisted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky not attend talks with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, which are scheduled to take place in Alaska. The reason is the fear that Zelensky’s presence could disrupt the dialogue with the Kremlin.<\/a> At the same time, US President Donald Trump is ready to offer Ukraine security guarantees – but outside the North Atlantic Alliance.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, US President Donald Trump planned to present economic incentives at his meeting with Vladimir Putin on August 15 \u2014 but not through NATO. If Moscow agrees to end the war in Ukraine, Washington could offer it preferences that would change the balance.<\/a><\/p>\n
