Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga stated before the meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Alaska that peace in Ukraine cannot be defined without Ukraine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sybiga’s statement was published by<\/a> the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

“The position of Ukraine and our partners on the path to peace is principled and clear: it cannot be determined without Ukraine,” Sybiga said.<\/div>\n

The Foreign Minister emphasized that peace talks will be productive only after a ceasefire is implemented.<\/p>\n

“No one wants peace more than Ukrainians. No one wants peace more than Europeans. But Russia sees its goal in waging war. Russia prefers to build new walls on our path to a just and lasting peace. It wants to close us off from freedom,” the minister said in a statement.<\/p>\n

He also emphasized that the transatlantic unity of democratic countries is stronger than Russian imperialism.<\/p>\n

“Thanks to our shared transatlantic strength, we can achieve a dignified peace built on reliable security,” Sibiga said.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, on August 14, Donald Trump made several statements before a summit with Vladimir Putin in Alaska, expressing his opinion on the Kremlin’s readiness for an agreement, doubts about a quick ceasefire, plans for a new meeting with Zelensky, and his intention to discuss borders and territorial issues.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, US President Donald Trump said that he does not seek to impose new sanctions against Russia, preferring diplomacy and negotiations<\/a> . At the same time, he emphasized his readiness to apply economic restrictions if the situation requires it.<\/p>\n

In addition, US President Donald Trump is suggesting the possibility of reducing US military forces in Europe if this helps convince Russian President Vladimir Putin to reach a peace agreement on Ukraine.<\/a> <\/p>\n
