On Saturday, August 16, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the current situation at the front.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Zelensky wrote<\/span><\/a> about this<\/span> in his Telegram channel.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is noted that for the second day in a row, the Defense Forces have been successful in difficult sections of the front in the Donetsk region, in particular near Dobropillya and Pokrovsk.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The destruction of the occupiers who tried to infiltrate deep into our positions continues. There is an important replenishment of the exchange fund for Ukraine by the Russian military,” the message says.<\/span><\/p>\n

Zelensky also noted that, given the political situation, the Russian army may increase pressure and strikes against Ukrainian positions in the coming days in order to create favorable circumstances for “talks with global actors.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Ukraine has now recorded the movement of Russian troops and their preparations for offensives. The President stressed that Ukrainian units will counter the enemy.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, Zelenskyy noted the units of the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov”, the units of the 7th Corps of Airborne Assault Troops, the units of the 38th Separate Marine Brigade named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny, as well as the units of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I thank every one of our soldiers, sergeants, and officers who carry out combat missions and destroy the occupiers exactly as needed for Ukraine’s confidence,” he concluded.<\/span><\/p>\n

Zelensky previously stated that before the meeting between Trump and Putin , the Russian army was preparing to launch new offensives<\/a> .<\/p>\n

Recall that during a conversation with Zelensky and European leaders, Trump stated that the Russian dictator’s plans for Donbas remained unchanged<\/a> .<\/p>\n

By the way, Russian troops have captured the villages of Popiv Yar and Ivano-Daryivka in Donetsk region<\/a> . Ukrainian units continue counterattacks.<\/p>\n

At the same time, as is known, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have pushed back the Russian occupiers in the Pokrov direction<\/a> , who recently advanced near Dobropillya.<\/p>\n
