A number of world leaders have confirmed their participation in the meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump, which will take place on August 18 in Washington.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In particular, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen<\/span> said<\/span><\/a> that at Zelensky’s request, she would arrive in the United States, where she would join the meeting with Trump.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also on Monday, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will arrive in the American capital,<\/span> Suspilne reports<\/span><\/a> .<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Secretary General will participate in a meeting that United States President Donald Trump will hold with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other European leaders,\u201d the alliance\u2019s press service reported.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Office of the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb,<\/span> was informed<\/span><\/a> that the head of state would participate in the summit.<\/span><\/p>\n

The official representative of the German Chancellor<\/span> assured<\/span><\/a> that Friedrich Merz will attend the summit in the American capital, during which Trump will share information about his meetings with Putin.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMerz will discuss the state of peace efforts with the heads of state and government and emphasize Germany\u2019s interest in reaching a peace agreement in Ukraine quickly. The talks will, among other things, address security guarantees, territorial issues, and continued support for Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression. This includes maintaining the pressure of sanctions,\u201d the report says.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also present at the White House will be British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Maloni,<\/span> Sky News<\/span> notes<\/span><\/a> .<\/p>\n

And Le Monde<\/span> confirmed<\/span><\/a> the participation of French President Emmanuel Macron in the summit.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a reminder, Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously announced a visit to the White House<\/a> , where he plans to discuss the details of a potential trilateral meeting with Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

As it became known, European allies plan to support Volodymyr Zelensky during his visit to the United States<\/a> in order to strengthen his position in negotiations with Donald Trump and avoid possible conflicts in the White House.<\/p>\n
