It is also noteworthy that such loud headlines appeared almost immediately after Volodymyr Zelenskyy\u2019s trip to this area. During his visit to the front, Zelenskyy stated that Ukrainian forces had recorded the presence of mercenaries from China, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and Africa in this region.<\/p>\n

At present, the Russians are trying to intensify their offensive in the Vovchansk direction. This is the shortest route to Kharkiv. However, there is no reason to talk about expanding their zone of presence in a way that would create a threat to the SDU.<\/p>\n

Russian troops currently have several targets. In the Vovchansk direction, their focus is Kharkiv.<\/p>\n

The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, has noted that the occupation forces in the Kharkiv direction are insufficient for a full-scale advance deep into Ukraine.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe attacks of Russian troops in the Kharkiv region are an attempt to draw off the forces and resources of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in other key areas of the front. There is no talk of any breakthrough of the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For the most part, the enemy uses the tactics of infantry attacks with cover from a few defensive formations. There is no talk of a breakthrough of the Ukrainian defense,\u201d he emphasized.<\/p>\n

There is no discussion of a blockade or capture of Kharkiv, but the enemy aims to use scorched-earth tactics \u2014 indiscriminate terror against the civilian population using barrel artillery. This is the enemy’s strategic objective in this direction.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that there are some tactical successes of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Kupyansk direction. Despite the redeployment of operational reserves in this sector and the short logistics line both from the territory of the Russian Federation and the occupied areas of the Luhansk region, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are keeping the situation under control.<\/p>\n

Expanding the zone of presence in the Dvuhletniy area is the most dangerous scenario because the occupiers will try \u2014 and are already trying \u2014 to reproduce the events of 2022. Namely, when the enemy\u2019s Izyum group was considered one of the most combat-ready and numerous formations, pursuing the goal of creating an operational encirclement of the Ukrainian group in the Slovyansk and Kramatorsk areas.<\/p>\n

The enemy wants to attempt to reach the rear of Slovyansk once again. In addition, they are trying to expand their zone of presence in the Milovoye area. Moreover, the plans of the occupiers clearly outline a counterattack \u2014 an attempt to link up with the Kupyansk group to create a continuous so-called buffer zone.
\nThis is, in fact, an attempt by the occupiers to regain previously lost positions.<\/p>\n

Let us recall that in May of this year, the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched a large-scale attack on the positions of Russian occupiers in a forested area near the village of Liptsy in the Kharkiv region. More than 1,500 enemy soldiers and up to 200 units of equipment were destroyed. The Ukrainian Armed Forces demonstrated an impressive level of planning and execution under difficult conditions.<\/p>\n

This operation removed the possibility of a breakthrough directly toward Liptsy and Vovchansk. However, the strategic goal of the occupiers remained advancing deeper into Ukrainian territory to reach areas from which they could fire upon residential districts of the regional center \u2014 Kharkiv. The Russian occupiers sought to improve their tactical position to terrorize the civilian population. The indiscriminate nature of their attacks targeted exclusively residential buildings in this Ukrainian city of one million inhabitants.<\/p>\n

One of the main differences in the enemy’s new tactics is the use of combined assaults with both infantry groups and armored vehicles \u2014 something that has not been seen for a long time.<\/p>\n

During the attacks, the enemy used large numbers of motorcycles, buggies, and other fast vehicles, attempting to bypass FPV drone kill zones. However, as we can see, any such innovation by the Russian side is met with a more than adequate response from the Ukrainian Defense Forces, both through rocket and artillery strikes and by employing FPV drones.<\/p>\n

At present, we can state that the Ukrainian Defense Forces have delivered a warning strike, preventing the occupiers from expanding their presence in the Kharkiv region. Furthermore, this development can be factored into negotiations with the American and Ukrainian sides.<\/p>\n

We are talking about the plans of the Russian leadership to use the intensification of fighting in the Kharkiv region as an element of military-political pressure on the Ukrainian leadership and the United States. According to the plans of the occupiers\u2019 military-political command, if the Ukrainian leadership does not comply with the Russian ultimatum \u2014 the withdrawal of Ukrainian Armed Forces units from controlled areas of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia, and Kherson regions \u2014 Russian forces intended to intensify their advance in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions.<\/p>\n

However, we are witnessing the exact opposite.<\/p>\n
