The Verkhovna Rada Rules Committee has recommended suspending MP Maryana Bezugla from parliamentary sessions due to repeated rule violations and disruptive conduct. The full chamber will vote to confirm the decision.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Parliamentary Committee on Rules of Procedure, Deputy Ethics, and Organization of Work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has recommended suspending non-factional MP Maryana Bezugla from attending parliamentary sessions.<\/p>\n

According to committee member Zheleznyak, the resolution was supported by five members. Bezugla herself did not attend the meeting.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe decision was made due to systematic violations of the regulations and antisocial behavior. Tomorrow, the matter will be put to a vote in the session hall,\u201d Zheleznyak stated.<\/p>\n

Bezugla quickly responded to the committee\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am filing a lawsuit challenging the legality of the Regulatory Committee\u2019s resolution,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

She explained why she considers the decision unfair. In particular, the MP stressed that she is being accused of obstructing parliamentary work for filming a session on a day when broadcasts were officially permitted. At the same time, no complaints have been made against other deputies, such as Oleksiy Honcharenko from European Solidarity, who has conducted live broadcasts for years.<\/p>\n

Bezugla also noted that she was criticized for displaying the sign \u201cPower is the People,\u201d which allegedly disturbed her colleagues.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut when opposition factions block the rostrum, carry numerous posters, or otherwise disrupt parliamentary work, no one calls for their suspension,\u201d she emphasized.<\/p>\n

She further pointed out that fights and loud protests in the Verkhovna Rada have never led to expulsion from sessions.<\/p>\n

\u201cTishchenko disregards everyone, and no resolution has been filed to remove him from sessions. In general, there is little action against deputies under investigation, mainly for corruption,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Bezugla concluded that the committee\u2019s decision reflects double standards. She stressed that her actions in the session hall are part of the democratic process and therefore cannot justify disciplinary measures.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that Maryana Bezugla has repeatedly been at the center of high-profile scandals in parliament. The most notable incident occurred at the end of July 2025, when she posted comments regarding the death of Holos MP Yaroslav Rushchyshyn. In her post, she bluntly mentioned that her colleague had died not at the front, but in a motorcycle accident on a Harley-Davidson. She also added an ironic remark about the curfew, suggesting that it supposedly does not apply to MPs.<\/p>\n

The post sparked outrage among parliamentarians, particularly Rushchyshyn\u2019s colleagues from the Holos faction, who viewed her statements as disrespectful to the memory of the deceased and a clear example of \u201cantisocial behavior.\u201d<\/p>\n

It should be recalled that on August 18, the Rules Committee had already considered suspending Bezugla and another deputy, Oleksiy Honcharenko (European Solidarity). At that time, no decision was made. However, after a second review, the committee approved Bezugla\u2019s suspension, which is now being submitted to the Verkhovna Rada for consideration.<\/p>\n

If the majority in the session hall votes in favor, Bezugla will be temporarily barred from participating in plenary sessions. This would constitute one of the harshest disciplinary measures imposed on MPs in recent years.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the chairman of the board of the “People’s Rear” charitable foundation, Heorhiy Tuka, stated that the People’s Deputy from the “Servant of the People” party, Maryana Bezugla, with her unfounded statements and criticism of the military, once again demonstrates the principle “who was nobody, will become everyone.”<\/a> The SBU must finally respond to the statements of the People’s Deputy to bring this person to criminal responsibility.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, on June 23, Bezugla made cynical statements<\/a>. She published a post in which she was amused by the fact that the Russian attack destroyed the home of Taras Topolia, the lead singer of the band \u201cAntibody\u201d<\/a>. Bezugla called what happened karma. A ballistic missile hit the house opposite Topolia\u2019s home. The blast wave almost destroyed the entire apartment. The walls survived, and the artist\u2019s family was not injured.<\/p>\n

In addition, the MP commented on the Russian shelling of Kyiv. Bezugla wrote that 31-year-old Dmytro Isayenko, who died under the rubble, allegedly evaded the army, so karma caught up with him<\/a>. Dmytro Isayenko was a student. His parents waited at the scene of the tragedy all day<\/a> while rescuers cleared the rubble. Later, the body of the deceased man was unblocked from under the rubble.<\/p>\n

As public activist Vitaliy Gaidukevych stated on the air of “Pryamyi”, the People’s Deputy from “Servant of the People” Maryana Bezugla, with her unflattering statements, acts as a kind of “information torpedo” for the Office of the President<\/a>, which is interested in inciting Ukrainians to divert negativity from the current government and the head of state personally.<\/p>\n
