European states should bear most of the costs associated with providing security guarantees for Ukraine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This position was expressed by United States Vice President J.D. Vance, Reuters reports.<\/p>\n

In his opinion, it is European countries that should become the main executors of this mission.<\/p>\n

“I don’t think the US should bear the brunt of this issue… The President clearly expects Europe to be the key player in the process,” Vance stressed.<\/p>\n

He also noted that regardless of the final format of support, it is European countries that must assume a significant part of the responsibility.<\/p>\n

“This is about their region, their security. And the president has made it clear: they should act more actively,” he added.<\/p>\n

We will remind, at a meeting of military leaders chaired by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, US Deputy Secretary of Defense Elbridge Colby, he informed the European allies: the US participation in Ukraine’s security guarantees should be limited, and the key role is assigned to Europe.<\/a><\/p>\n
