Donald Trump has consistently criticized Joe Biden for his political actions related to the war in Ukraine. However, he himself is not ready to change his rhetoric towards Russia to a harsher one.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“The Trump-Putin summit in Alaska, followed by a visit by European leaders to the White House, was supposed to provide a boost to ending the war between Russia and Ukraine. A week later, we are back to the same old thing, as Vladimir Putin uses his usual tricks and shows no serious interest in a deal. The question is what President Trump will do about it,” the publication says.<\/p>\n

The WSJ commented on the strikes by the Russian occupiers and Putin’s behavior with the following words: “This is not the behavior of a person interested in peace.”<\/p>\n

The publication emphasizes that until Putin believes that the cost of continuing the war for him will be higher than the risk of ending it, he will not stop.<\/p>\n

“It’s time for Mr. Trump to impose secondary sanctions on countries that buy Russian oil and gas. This could attract China’s attention. Here’s another idea: confiscate a portion of the $300 billion in Russian reserves frozen in the West every week while the bombing continues,” the journalists suggested.<\/p>\n

The publication added that a lasting peace in Ukraine is unlikely without a much tougher policy by US President Trump.<\/p>\n

Recall that the United States plans to take on only a “minimal” role in providing security guarantees to Ukraine.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, US President Donald Trump said that it will become clear within the next two weeks whether peace can be achieved in Ukraine<\/a> . If this does not happen, he warned of the possibility of finding \u201canother approach\u201d to resolving the war.<\/p>\n
