On the night of August 24, units of the Main Intelligence Directorate, together with the Unmanned Systems Forces and other components of the Defense Forces, inflicted fire damage on an important Russian fuel and energy infrastructure facility in the Samara region.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This<\/span> was announced<\/span><\/a> by the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/span><\/p>\n

In particular, the Syzran oil refinery was under attack. According to preliminary data, a hit and detonation were recorded near the refinery. Other details of the attack are currently being clarified.<\/span><\/p>\n

As explained by the General Staff, the plant produces gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene and other petroleum products, which are supplied to the Russian army. The enterprise has a design capacity of up to 8.5 million tons of oil per year – 3.08% of the total oil refining volume in Russia.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The Ukrainian Defense Forces are systematically implementing measures aimed at reducing the combat potential of the Russian occupation forces, destabilizing their logistical capabilities, in particular in terms of the supply of fuels and lubricants, and also at forcing the Russian Federation to cease armed aggression against Ukraine,” the General Staff emphasized.<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier, units of the Defense Forces struck the Novoshakhtinsky oil products plant<\/a> , located in the Rostov region of the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, on the night of August 19 , the Volgograd region of Russia was subjected to a large-scale drone attack<\/a> . A series of explosions were heard on the outskirts of the regional center, and local residents reported a fire at an oil refinery and damage to a hospital.<\/p>\n

As reported, on the night of August 18 , the Unmanned Systems Forces, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, struck the Russian Nikolskoye oil pumping station in the Tambov region.<\/a><\/p>\n
