The Verkhovna Rada has registered a bill that would allow conscripts and military servicemen under the age of 25 to leave Ukraine<\/strong><\/p>\n

The relevant draft law was published<\/a> on the parliament’s website.<\/p>\n

The explanatory note to the bill notes that with the beginning of a full-scale war in Ukraine, restrictions were introduced on the departure of men aged 18 to 60. This decision was made to ensure mobilization and defense of the country.<\/p>\n

However, men under the age of 25 cannot actually be drafted during mobilization, but they also do not have the right to travel abroad.<\/p>\n

“Such a ban creates serious obstacles to the return to Ukraine of young people studying or working abroad, makes it difficult to maintain contact with their families, and provokes the search for ways to circumvent the law,” the document states.<\/p>\n

The new law proposes to clearly stipulate that the travel restrictions do not apply to conscripts and those liable for military service who have not yet reached the age for mobilization.<\/p>\n

It is noted that the adoption of the law will allow border crossing for men under the age of 25. It will also eliminate bureaucratic problems with documents and military registration, and will facilitate the return of young people to Ukraine.<\/p>\n

“This will also strengthen young citizens’ trust in the state and maintain their connection with the Motherland,” the creators of the bill believe.<\/p>\n

Previously , a bill was submitted to the Verkhovna Rada that could allow men aged 18 to 22 to travel abroad<\/a> .<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed the government to prepare changes that would simplify crossing the state border for men under the age of 22.<\/a><\/p>\n

By the way, the Servant of the People proposed expanding the possibilities for Ukrainians to travel abroad<\/a> during martial law, allowing this not only to young men, but also to everyone who has legal grounds for a deferment from mobilization.<\/p>\n
