Norway will continue its support for Ukraine in 2026, with the government planning to allocate around $8.5 billion in military and civilian assistance.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As noted, Norway seeks to maintain a high level of support, planning to allocate about $8.5 billion for military and civilian assistance.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the current situation, it is important to confirm our continued strong support for Ukraine \u2014 political, financial, and military,\u201d emphasized Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr St\u00f8re.<\/p>\n

If the Norwegian parliament approves the budget proposal, it will raise the total support for Ukraine to 275 billion Norwegian kroner \u2014 more than $27 billion.<\/p>\n

There is currently no final decision on the distribution of funds; however, most of the funding is expected to be used to support international initiatives and procurement within the Ukrainian defense industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the past six months, Russia has intensified its drone and missile strikes on Ukraine. Children are dying, entire families are perishing, and buildings are collapsing. Our budget proposal for next year will ensure that we continue to support Ukraine in its fight,\u201d the Prime Minister assured.<\/p>\n

In addition, St\u00f8re noted the necessity of increasing pressure on Russia. At the same time, he added that Norway supports the initiative of US President Donald Trump to launch a peace settlement process and define security guarantees for Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the Norwegian government announced the allocation of about 7 billion Norwegian kroner<\/a> ($696 million) for the supply of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems and modern radars to Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Recall that before the start of the new heating season, the Norwegian government allocated almost $100 million<\/a> to provide Ukraine with sufficient energy.<\/p>\n
