After drone strikes on Russia on August 24, the power of the only operating power unit at the Kursk NPP was halved.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> in The Moscow Times.<\/p>\n

It is noted that the UAV was shot down near the station on the morning of August 24. After that, a fire broke out at the nuclear power plant. Russia accuses Ukraine of a deliberate attack on the energy facility.<\/p>\n

“During the fall, the drone detonated, damaging a transformer used for its own needs. As a result, the third unit was unloaded by 50%,” Rosenergoatom reported.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the Kursk NPP is one of the largest in the west of the Russian Federation. It is an important node of the Russian energy system, providing electricity to over 90% of industrial enterprises in the Kursk region.<\/p>\n

The capacity of the third power unit is 1000 MW. This is the only unit currently operating at the station.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that on August 24 , the Security Service of Ukraine and the Special Operations Forces used long-range drones to strike the port of Ust-Luga and a number of other facilities in the Russian Federation<\/a> .<\/p>\n
