On the night of August 26, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on the territory of Ukraine, using 59 Shahed attack drones and simulator drones of various modifications. The attack was carried out from several directions: Kursk, Shatalovo, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russian territory).<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Anti-aircraft missile systems, mobile fire groups, electronic warfare units, and anti-drone systems were involved in repelling the air strike.<\/p>\n

As of 9 a.m., according to preliminary estimates, Ukrainian air defenses had destroyed or suppressed at least 47 drones. The main areas of attack were the northern and eastern regions of the country.<\/p>\n

However, the attack could not be completely repelled: 12 drones were recorded hitting 9 different locations. Details regarding damage or casualties are being clarified.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, as of the morning of August 26, Russia has lost about 1,077,830 military personnel since the start of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Over the course of the day, the enemy’s losses in manpower reached 890 people.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, over the past 24 hours, 174 combat clashes have occurred on the Russian-Ukrainian front.<\/a> The hottest situation remains in the Pokrov direction.<\/p>\n
