According to forecasts, coffee prices could increase by up to 40%, which for end consumers will mean an increase of approximately 10-20%.

This is reported by the publication “In Brief”.

The main reason for the increase in cost is said to be adverse climatic conditions in the leading producing countries. Due to a prolonged drought in Brazil and excessive rains in Vietnam, the coffee bean harvest has decreased significantly – by approximately 10-11% in Brazil and 10-20% in Vietnam.

For comparison, last year the price of Arabica rose by 125%, so the current increase seems less catastrophic for now, but it is still noticeable for the end buyer.

Today, 100 grams of coffee beans cost an average of about 80 hryvnias in Ukrainian supermarkets. After the price increase, the same amount could reach 96 hryvnias.

A 250-gram package of ground coffee, currently selling for about 250 hryvnias, may soon rise in price to 300 hryvnias.

According to data, coffee consumption per capita in Ukraine is increasing: in 2000, an average person drank only 0.2 kg per year, in 2018 it was already 1.2 kg, and by 2020 this figure had grown to 1.5 kg.

Over the past five years, coffee imports into the country have increased by 63%, reaching 48.4 thousand tons in 2020, worth $166 million.

We remind you that the rate of growth in food prices in Ukraine is gradually decreasing , but inflation in this area will remain high for some time.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , Twitter , Telegram , and Instagram.

Coffee lovers may face a significant increase in the price of their favorite beverage in 2025.
