I was always surprised by Shmygal’s reaction, so I ask him why you discredit women, why women in the civil service are in a more difficult position than men, because they often have a deferment, while women are not subject to military service,” he said.

She also recalled that there were some outrageous cases when the mother of a prisoner of war was not released for participation in a rally in support of Azov only because she was a deputy of the village council. “Imagine the absurdity. We talked about this with the entire government, but they pretended to be surprised,” the faction co-chair added.

Irina Gerashchenko, immediately after Sviridenko’s appointment as Prime Minister, asked her when this shameful restriction would finally be lifted. “It seems that a woman in the position of Prime Minister should first and foremost protect Ukrainian women, who are currently bearing the heavy burden of war. She pretended that she was also hearing about this resolution for the first time, although the government is a collective body, and they clearly adopted it together with Shmyhal. I wrote inquiries, I fought to protect women’s rights – to protect women.”

She warned that Ukraine could experience a setback in attracting women to power and politics due to government decisions where qualified Ukrainian women will resign their mandates or leave the civil service in order to protect their families or have the opportunity to volunteer.

“Today we got our first very important victory – Sviridenko admitted that women were not able to go even on legal vacation. True, she did not say why they could not go there, through whom?”, – the deputy emphasized.

According to her, today the government made a half-hearted decision that women working in local government bodies, if they do not receive a salary from the state, will be able to go abroad.

“I congratulate everyone, it was a hard struggle and hard work. We continue to work, because the same decision should be made for the civil service. I am surprised that we have such a government, that we have to fight so hard for the right decisions. Sviridenko should be advised to listen to the opposition more often, to listen to “European Solidarity”

“We will not advise anything bad, we will advise wise things. We will fight beyond our rights and we will not be afraid to call things by their proper names, because the only thing this government is afraid of is publicity,” she added.

Also follow “Pryamy” on Facebook , Twitter , Telegram and Instagram.

Co-chair of the European Solidarity faction Irina Gerashchenko welcomed the government’s decision to finally lift the ban on female local council members leaving the country. “2.5 years ago, the government made a senseless, illegal decision to ban travel abroad for women who are not subject to military service, but only on social grounds, because they […]

[76871,76872,76885,76894
post-1285752","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news-2","category-news-feed","category-policy","category-politics
["GET
