The Russian Navy has added three new warships at once: the patrol ship Viktor Velikiy<\/em> and the small missile ships Typhoon<\/em> and Stavropol<\/em>. All three were built at the Zelenodolsk Gorky Shipbuilding Plant and are slated for service with the Black Sea and Baltic Fleets.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Patrol Ship “Viktor Velikiy”<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Viktor Velikiy<\/em> became the fifth patrol ship of Project 22160. It was laid down in 2016 and launched in May 2024. The ship is designed for a crew of 80 and can accommodate a Ka-27 helicopter.<\/p>\n

The ship is equipped with a 76.2 mm AK-176MA artillery mount, anti-aircraft missiles, and machine guns. Its missions include protecting the maritime economic zone, escorting vessels, and countering piracy.<\/p>\n

Small Missile Ship “Stavropol”<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Stavropol<\/em> has joined the Baltic Fleet and is the 12th ship of the Buyan-M class. Construction began in 2018, and it was launched in June 2024.<\/p>\n

The ship\u2019s armament includes a 100 mm A-190 artillery gun, an AK-630M-2 “Duet” anti-aircraft mount, machine guns, and anti-aircraft missiles. Its main strike capability comes from a 3S14 vertical launcher capable of firing Onyx or Caliber missiles.<\/p>\n

Small Missile Ship “Typhoon”<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Typhoon<\/em>, which joined the Black Sea Fleet, belongs to Project 22800 Karakurt. It was laid down in 2019 and launched in May 2024.<\/p>\n

Designed for operations in coastal waters and shallow seas, the ship is armed with a modernized 76.2 mm AK-176MA gun, two AK-630M anti-aircraft systems, and a strike missile system.<\/p>\n

This latest replenishment highlights Russia\u2019s efforts to compensate for naval losses, particularly in the Black Sea, where Ukrainian forces have inflicted significant damage to enemy bases and ships.<\/p>\n

Recall that the base of the Russian Pacific Fleet in Kamchatka, where many nuclear submarines are located, was damaged<\/a> by a tsunami caused by a strong earthquake.<\/p>\n
