German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that a personal meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin will not take place, noting that direct contact between the two leaders is unlikely.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is noted that during a joint briefing with French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz expressed skepticism about the likelihood of talks between Zelenskyy and Putin. He emphasized that a meeting between the two presidents is practically impossible under the current conditions.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt won\u2019t come to a meeting between President Zelensky and President Putin, as it did between President Trump and President Putin,\u201d Merz said in response to reporters\u2019 questions.<\/p>\n

Merz\u2019s comments came amid discussions about potential new formats for dialogue to end the war. Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine is receiving \u201cnegative signals\u201d<\/strong> from Russia regarding possible high-level talks.<\/p>\n

The German Chancellor\u2019s statement suggests that Berlin does not expect a breakthrough in personal negotiations between Zelenskyy and Putin, instead placing its hopes on international formats involving partner countries.<\/p>\n
