Singer Nastya Kamensky has found herself at the center of a heated debate after her US concert tour. The performances, which took place in Chicago, Miami, and New York, caused a mixed reaction due to the artist’s return to performing Russian-language songs – despite previous statements about abandoning this practice.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A new wave of indignation was caused by a video from a performance in Miami, where Kamensky, addressing the audience, made a statement that quickly spread across the network:<\/p>\n

“It doesn’t matter what language we speak or what color our skin is. The only language the whole world understands is love,” she said in Russian from the stage.<\/p>\n

This performance was accompanied by the performance of old hits in Russian, including “This is my night”, “Red wine” and “Popa kak u Kim”, which caused a wave of criticism among the Ukrainian audience.<\/p>\n

The situation was perceived especially sharply against the background of a long-standing statement by the singer herself: in 2022, Kamensky publicly promised to abandon the Russian-language repertoire and condemned the dominance of Russian artists in the media space during the war.<\/p>\n

Nastya herself explained her return to singing in Russian by saying that she wants to convey messages of support for Ukraine to a wider audience, including those who do not speak Ukrainian but sympathize with Ukrainians in the war against the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n
