During an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council held on August 29, the United States once again threatened Russia with sanctions if the Kremlin did not move towards a peaceful settlement.<\/strong><\/p>\n

US Ambassador-Counselor John Kelly called on the Russians to stop airstrikes on Ukrainian cities, stressing that they question “the seriousness of Russia’s pursuit of peace.”<\/span><\/p>\n
