The leader of the European Solidarity party, Petro Poroshenko, during a speech on the Kyiv Maidan, stated that People’s Deputy Andriy Parubiy, who was killed in Lviv, gathered thousands of Ukrainians at his last Maidan.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He said<\/span><\/a> this<\/span> during the politician’s memorial evening.<\/span><\/p>\n

Poroshenko emphasized that Andriy Parubiy is associated with Independence Square in Kyiv for him.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Commandant of the Maidan. Commander of the hundreds of Self-Defense Forces. I remember how we stood together on the frosty Maidan in 2013, and Andriy treated everyone to buckwheat with stew. And when there were less than a thousand people left near the stage, he supported their spirit and was there,” he noted.<\/span><\/p>\n

The leader of the EU added that Parubiy believed that Maidan would stand, and his dream came true.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen the Russians say they started the war to ‘denazify’ Ukraine, they meant exactly this: to kill the best sons of Ukraine, including Andriy Parubiy,\u201d the fifth president is convinced.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Poroshenko, the politician’s contributions to nation-building are difficult to overstate: he supported the development of the army, the adoption of the Law on Language, quotas for Ukrainian music and cinema, and Ukrainian books.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Within 24 hours, he convened the Verkhovna Rada, and we secured a vote for an appeal to the Ecumenical Patriarch regarding the granting of the Tomos. Then we received more than the constitutional majority. And this vote was led by Andriy Parubiy, because he understood the importance of our faith. Together, we voted for amendments to the Constitution regarding the mandatory movement of Ukraine towards the EU and NATO,” the deputy assured.<\/span><\/p>\n

Poroshenko noted that Andriy Parubiy was a true friend, a loyal comrade-in-arms, and a very wise and educated person.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe must protect the Ukrainian state. We must realize what Andriy dreamed of. That is why today many thousands of people gathered on the Maidan. And that is why tomorrow many tens of thousands will be in Lviv. All of Ukraine will say goodbye to its great son Andriy Parubiy. Thank you, Andriy,\u201d the fifth president summed up.<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier it was reported that an evening of remembrance for MP Andriy Parubiy began on Independence Square in Kyiv<\/a> . Hundreds of people, including public and political figures, gathered to honor the memory of the parliamentarian.<\/p>\n

Let us recall that on August 30 , public and political figure Andriy Parubiy was killed in Lviv<\/a> .<\/p>\n

Later, it became known that the Lviv region is searching for the shooter who killed the current deputy from the “European Solidarity” party and former speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy<\/a> . A photo of the alleged killer is being published on the Internet.<\/p>\n

Later, journalists reported that MP Andriy Parubiy was shot 8 times by a man disguised as a courier.<\/a><\/p>\n
