US President Donald Trump expressed \u201cgreat disappointment\u201d in Vladimir Putin, condemning Russia\u2019s war in Ukraine and the massive loss of life it has caused.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“I am very disappointed in him (Putin),” Trump said. “We had a great relationship\u2026 Thousands of people are dying. This war makes no sense and would never have started if I were president.”<\/p>\n

Trump emphasized that the war, ongoing for more than three years, claims about 7,000 lives every week \u2014 mostly soldiers, both Ukrainian and Russian. He stressed that the tragedy lies in the war\u2019s senselessness and the fact that it could have been prevented.<\/p>\n

“This war would never have started if I were president. And it worries me even more because the election was rigged. It’s a disgrace,” the US president added.<\/p>\n

Despite his harsh words against the Kremlin, Trump clarified that he sees his role as trying to save lives. He announced that he is preparing concrete steps to stop the bloodshed.<\/p>\n

“This is not just a Ukraine issue. It’s about helping people live. If I can help stop this, I consider it my duty to do so,” Trump emphasized.

President Volodymyr Zelensky may also participate in the meeting.<\/a> Kyiv expects specific decisions from partners, including the possibility of involving peacekeeping troops to deter Russian aggression.<\/p>\n
