The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a resolution on appealing<\/a> to parliaments, governments and international organizations in connection with the murder of people’s deputy, former Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As it became known from the broadcasts of the people’s deputies, 296 people’s deputies voted “for”.<\/p>\n

The MPs also demand that an immediate, transparent and effective investigation into the murder be conducted, with the involvement of international experts if necessary.<\/p>\n

The explanatory note to the document, the main author of which is Petro Poroshenko<\/a> (co-chairman of “European Solidarity”), notes that “this crime is an act of political terror organized by the Russian Federation.” The authors of the document emphasize that the crime is directed against Ukrainian statehood and democracy, and its goal is to destabilize the situation in the country.<\/p>\n

Considering Parubiy\u2019s patriotic activities \u2013 from his participation in the national democratic movement of the 1980s and 1990s, leadership on the Maidan, to the creation of the National Guard and consistent defense of Ukraine\u2019s sovereignty in the post of Chairman of Parliament \u2013 in the resolution the MPs call on the international community:<\/p>\n
