The voluntary recruitment program \u201cContract 18-24\u201d can be expanded to include older citizens, as well as military personnel who are already in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, Colonel Pavel Palisa, in an interview with the Public<\/a> .<\/em><\/p>\n

According to him, after the completion of the necessary examinations, new contract formats will be proposed, providing for a clear definition of service periods, opportunities for changes and benefits.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“This contract will give people an understanding of the terms of service, the possibility of changes, certain benefits, and so on. But you need to be very careful and attentive to all calculations. Here, as with doctors: the main thing is not to harm,” Palisa emphasized.<\/p>\n

He noted that the “18-24” program is still at the improvement stage, but has already received positive feedback from brigade commanders. According to them, young contract soldiers have demonstrated high efficiency and quickly master tasks that are difficult for mobilized personnel to perform in most cases.<\/p>\n

Palisa emphasized that the program was initially launched in a narrow format to work out the mechanisms for preparation, provision and payments, and that it could be scaled up in the future.<\/p>\n

He also confirmed that the contract system could be extended to those already serving in the army, as well as to citizens over 24 years of age.<\/p>\n

Let us recall that on July 31, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law introducing a new vacation procedure for military personnel<\/a> . Now 15 days out of 30 days of annual basic vacation are mandatory, and combatants will be able to receive another 14 additional days at the commander’s discretion.<\/p>\n

By the way, the number of combat units that can be joined under a voluntary contract 18-24 has increased to 24.<\/a> The corresponding decree was signed by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the “Contract 18-24” program had undergone another expansion<\/a> , with the number of positions available for concluding a contract for service being increased.<\/p>\n

As you know, in February, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine officially launched the Contract 18-24 project<\/a> – a new format of voluntary service for Ukrainians aged 18 to 24. This is an initiative that allows young people to join the defense forces for one year, while receiving a high level of training, social guarantees and competitive wages.<\/p>\n
