In August, Russia’s federal budget received about 35% less oil and gas revenues than in August last year.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is evidenced by data from the Russian Ministry of Finance, The Moscow Times<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n

In August, oil and gas revenues amounted to 505 billion rubles, which is 36% less than in July, when the tax on additional income was credited. In total, for the eight months of 2025, energy revenues were 20.2% lower than for the same period in 2024, and amounted to 6.03 trillion rubles.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Initially, the Russian Finance Ministry planned to receive 10.94 trillion rubles in oil and gas revenues this year, of which 1.8 trillion were to go to the National Welfare Fund. However, due to falling oil prices and the strengthening of the ruble, the forecast was reduced to 8.32 trillion rubles. For comparison, last year the budget received 11.13 trillion rubles from the sale of energy resources.<\/p>\n

Let us recall that for the first time since the start of full-scale aggression against Ukraine, the Russian state is spending almost half of all federal budget revenues on military needs. Every second ruble paid by taxpayers is directed to support the army and purchase weapons.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, the Russian IT sector has lost access to Western technologies due to sanctions, which is why it is experiencing a systemic crisis.<\/a><\/p>\n
