The Industrial District Court of Dnipro has sentenced a serviceman of the National Guard of Ukraine to life imprisonment for the brutal murder of four people in the city of Lyman, Donetsk region. Among the victims are two police officers and two women, a mother and daughter.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by the press service<\/a> of the State Bureau of Investigation.<\/p>\n

According to the investigation, the tragedy occurred at the end of January 2024. A local resident of Lyman called the police after a soldier entered her yard, knocked on the windows, and tried to enter the house.<\/p>\n

The investigation team arrived at the scene, but they soon stopped communicating. When another team arrived to help, the law enforcement officers found two of their colleagues shot and saw a damaged company car. The bodies of two women – a pensioner and her daughter – also lay in the yard.<\/p>\n

The criminal was detained on hot pursuit. The investigation was conducted by investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation, who conducted more than 20 forensic examinations and established that the soldier was systematically in conflict with a local resident. When the police arrived, he opened fire on the law enforcement officers, took their service weapons, and then shot the witnesses to the crime.<\/p>\n

The court found him guilty under a number of articles of the Criminal Code, including: illegal entry into a dwelling, hooliganism, intentional killing of law enforcement officers in the performance of their duties, intentional killing of two people, murder with the aim of concealing another crime, as well as illegal possession and storage of weapons.<\/p>\n

The procedural management of the case was carried out by the Donetsk Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the Field of Defense of the Eastern Region.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, on the evening of August 31 , a shooting occurred in the center of Lviv, on Volodymyr Velyky Street<\/a> . Later, it became known that a suspected shooter was detained in Lviv,<\/a> who shot two men in the city center on the evening of August 31.<\/p>\n
