A dispute arose between the General Director of Ukrposhta, Ihor Smilyansky, and social media users over the company’s services.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This<\/span> is stated<\/span><\/a> in a post on the social network X.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSmilyansky is such a powerful manager that at my Ukrposhta branch they can fire the postman because the subscription plan was not fulfilled,\u201d<\/span> wrote<\/span><\/a> a user with the nickname \u201cRed Kangaroo\u201d on December 24, 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

The company’s CEO responded to this post on September 3, 2025, advising to ask the postman about violations during pension payments when possible.<\/span><\/p>\n

Later, another user responded to Smilyansky, calling him \u201cdetached from reality.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYour job is to deliver packages. What a plan, what subscriptions. […] You would be better off transferring pensions (pensioners \u2013 ed.) to cards, rather than issuing subscriptions,\u201d he noted.<\/span><\/p>\n

To this comment, Smilyansky replied: \u201cNo – you are completely disconnected from reality. Have you been to the villages? Have you been to the front-line zones? Where can you insert this card in the city that you have instead of a head. Do you know that only 4% of settlements in Ukraine have a bank or an ATM? Do you know how people are supposed to get to the nearest ATM? Do you know how a person with a disability is supposed to do it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Smilyansky<\/span> commented on<\/span><\/a> the entire incident on Telegram on Friday, August 5. He noted that he became a social media star because he “sent a certain rascal.”<\/span><\/p>\n

According to him, users often self-actualize by insulting famous people and expect polite responses.<\/span> Smilyansky added that he responds in the same tone in which he is addressed.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIf a person is an asshole, someone should tell them about it. Otherwise, they will go through life without knowing the diagnosis. I will not apologize for anything. I am not only a manager, but also a free person in a free country,\u201d the CEO of Ukrposhta concluded.<\/span><\/p>\n
