Russia has increased production of Geran-2 attack drones (analogous to the Iranian Shahed-136) and is now capable of producing about 2,700 drones per month.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Andrey Yusov, in an interview<\/a> with Novosti.LIVE.<\/p>\n

In addition to combat drones, the Russian Federation also produces a large number of \u201cdecoys\u201d without a warhead.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The use of hundreds of Shaheds in combination with missiles poses a serious challenge to Ukrainian air and missile defenses.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to Yusov, this is a signal to Ukraine\u2019s partners: \u201cThey must help us protect Ukrainian skies.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier, Ukrainian military intelligence reported the active use by Russian troops of a new type of drone<\/a> equipped with LTE modems. This drone can perform the functions of both a strike and reconnaissance vehicle, as well as simulate an attack to overload Ukrainian air defense.<\/p>\n

On the eve, Ukrainian specialists developed an unmanned system for intercepting and destroying attack drones such as Shahed<\/a> and Gerber. The new drone is capable of operating in the dark, quickly detecting targets and physically destroying them before they approach infrastructure facilities or populated areas.<\/p>\n

Let us recall that the enemy’s Shahed-type attack drones have undergone another upgrade – video cameras were found on some of the recently shot down drones.<\/a><\/p>\n
