The Ukrainian military restored lost territories, covered cities from drone and missile strikes, and also carried out strikes deep into Russia.<\/p>\n<p> August also became a month of important reforms: the Armed Forces of Ukraine are completing the transition to a corps system, which is already increasing the efficiency of military command.<\/p>\n<p> Despite the three- and even six-fold numerical superiority of the Russians on key sections of the front, Ukrainian soldiers thwarted the plans of the occupiers. In particular:<\/p>\n<ul><\/p>\n<li> in the Dobropil direction, the Russians captured 13.5 sq. km, but lost 25.5 sq. km;<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li> in Pokrovsky they gained 5 sq. km, while the Defense Forces regained 26 sq. km;<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li> in other directions it was possible to maintain positions, and in the North Slobozhansky area it was also possible to recapture 4 sq. km.<\/li>\n<p><\/ul>\n<p> Throughout August, Ukrainian defenders regained control over <strong>58 sq. km of territory<\/strong> and liberated a number of settlements.<\/p>\n<p> More than <strong>60 strikes were also carried out on targets in Russia<\/strong> , including fuel plants, aviation ammunition, missiles, air defense systems, and other military infrastructure. Under the Middle Strike program, the effectiveness of target destruction increased by 25%, and Ukrainian Armed Forces drones attacked more than <strong>67,000 enemy targets<\/strong> during the month.<\/p>\n<p> Enemy losses in August amounted to <strong>28,790 soldiers<\/strong> , and since the beginning of 2025, more than <strong>297 thousand occupiers were killed and wounded<\/strong> .<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;We are on course to exhaust the enemy, to destroy him, and to achieve the results necessary for Ukraine. We still have a lot of work ahead of us, but we are defending our land, and we are on the right course: to exhaust the enemy, to destroy him, and to achieve the results necessary for Ukraine,&#8221; Syrsky concluded.<\/p>\n<p> It was previously reported that <a href=\"https:\/\/prm.ua\/na-pokrovskomu-napriamku-syly-oborony-vidnovyly-kontrol-nad-desiatkamy-kvadratnykh-kilometriv-syrskyy\/\">in August, Ukrainian defenders lost about 5 sq. km in the Pokrovsky direction<\/a> , but were able to regain control of 26 sq. km of territory. Similar dynamics in favor of Ukraine are observed in the Dobropolsky direction.<\/p>\n<p> As a reminder, <a href=\"https:\/\/prm.ua\/rosiia-stiahuie-syly-dlia-osinnoho-nastupu-na-donechchyni\/\">the Russian occupation forces have begun a large-scale regrouping of forces at the front, as evidenced by the redeployment of marines and paratroopers towards the Donetsk region<\/a> . Analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) predict that in the fall of 2025, the Russian command will try to capture the remains of the Donetsk region.<\/p>\n<p> As is known,<a href=\"https:\/\/prm.ua\/zsu-za-dobu-znyshchyly-ponad-900-okupantiv-ta-585-odynyts-tekhniky-voroha\/\">as of September 8, the Armed Forces of Ukraine had destroyed about 1,089,060 Russian military personnel<\/a> .
