It includes the supply of armored vehicles, ammunition, air defense systems, drones, electronic warfare equipment, as well as funding for joint defense projects and participation in international initiatives.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/department-national-defence\/news\/2025\/09\/minister-mcguinty-attends-30th-meeting-of-the-ukraine-defense-contact-group.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">was announced by<\/a> Canadian Minister of National Defense David McGuinty during the 30th meeting of the Contact Group on Defense Issues in Ukraine (&#8220;Ramstein&#8221;), which took place on September 9.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>What is included in the assistance package:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> CAD 835 million will be spent on the purchase of armored vehicles, ammunition, drones, medical equipment and other equipment;<\/p>\n<p> CAD 680 million (equivalent to USD 500 million) will go to equipment from NATO&#8217;s priority list \u2014 in particular, to strengthen air defense;<\/p>\n<p> CAD 220 million has been invested in drones, anti-drone systems, and electronic warfare equipment. Some of them will be created as part of joint projects between Ukrainian and Canadian manufacturers;<\/p>\n<p> CAD 165 million \u2014 to support multinational coalitions in the Ramstein format;<\/p>\n<p> CAD 100 million for ammunition that will be purchased under the Czech Initiative.<\/p>\n<p> The minister also confirmed that the first eight ACSV Super Bison armored personnel carriers have already been sent to Ukraine. By the end of 2025, Kyiv will receive all 50 units of equipment, which Canada announced back in 2023. The armored personnel carriers are designed to support infantry and transport personnel in a combat zone.<\/p>\n<p> McGuinty emphasized that military assistance is Canada&#8217;s key contribution to strengthening Ukraine&#8217;s defense capabilities in the face of continued aggression from Russia.<\/p>\n<p> As a reminder, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced new military aid to Ukraine in September.
