The European Union is discussing the possibility of using about 6.6 billion euros from the European Peace Fund to finance the purchase of American weapons, which will later be transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced by<\/a> Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a briefing.<\/p>\n

According to the head of government, this is an initiative that will allow EU countries to purchase weapons from the United States and transfer them to the Ukrainian side as part of joint defense support.<\/p>\n

Shmyhal emphasized that this decision is still under discussion, but its implementation will significantly strengthen the combat capability of Ukrainian forces and contribute to the deepening of transatlantic cooperation in the security sphere.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the United States State Department has approved the possible export of weapons to Ukraine, the total value of which is estimated at approximately $825 million.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, the 30th meeting of the Contact Group on Defense Issues for Ukraine in the \u201cRamstein\u201d format was held in London, where further military support for Ukraine was discussed. The defense ministers of Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and Germany agreed on the agenda and also announced large-scale programs for the supply of kamikaze drones and long-range unmanned aerial vehicles for the Ukrainian army.<\/a><\/p>\n
