Last night, 19 Russian drones violated Polish airspace. Polish air defense forces were able to eliminate only four of them.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was stated by<\/a> Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Sky News reports.<\/p>\n

According to him, most of the drones invaded from the side of Belarus, which increases the security threat to NATO’s eastern flank. Tusk also noted that these are no longer just isolated incidents, but systematic violations that require a response from the Alliance.<\/p>\n

In connection with the situation, Poland initiated a consultation mechanism under Article 4 of the NATO Charter. This clause provides for the possibility of discussing within the Alliance threats affecting the security of its members.<\/p>\n

“Poland needs not only statements of solidarity. We need concrete actions,” Tusk stressed.<\/p>\n

At the same time, NATO emphasizes that the application of Article 4 is not a basis for a military response, but allows allies to formally consider the situation in joint consultations.<\/p>\n

Recall, after a group of Russian drones penetrated the airspace of Poland, a NATO member state, a number of Western governments expressed solidarity and concern<\/a> . Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson condemned the violation of the Polish border by Russian drones, calling it an \u201cunacceptable act.\u201d Latvian President Edgars Rink\u0117vi\u010dius also issued a statement, emphasizing Poland\u2019s full support. In his opinion, such incidents indicate that the Russian Federation\u2019s war against Ukraine has direct consequences for the security of neighboring states.<\/p>\n

Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide described the situation as \u201cdeeply worrying,\u201d emphasizing that Norway stands shoulder to shoulder with Poland and other NATO allies.<\/p>\n

As reported, on the night of September 9-10, the situation in Eastern Europe escalated again – Russia launched a massive strike on the territory of Ukraine, while a number of enemy drones crossed the air border of Poland<\/a> . This forced Warsaw to activate air defense forces and engage aviation.<\/p>\n

By the way, on the morning of September 10 , Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk initiated an urgent government meeting due to an incident involving the violation of the country’s airspace by Russian drones.<\/a><\/p>\n
