New Zealand has joined the European Union initiative and is also lowering the price ceiling for Russian crude oil.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This<\/span> was announced by<\/span><\/a> the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is important that this approach works in different jurisdictions, in every part of the world,\u201d Zelenskyy emphasized.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is worth noting that an oil ceiling is a maximum price at which oil can be sold, usually imposed by other countries or unions.<\/span><\/p>\n

The corresponding measures lead to a significant reduction in profits for the exporting country, which, in turn, can cause inflation. In the long term, this can cause a deep economic crisis, as the country becomes difficult to finance public spending, including military spending.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, New Zealand has imposed new sanctions against 19 legal entities and individuals and 19 vessels of the Russian shadow fleet. The restrictions include Russian military intelligence, including units involved in cyberattacks on Ukraine.<\/span><\/p>\n

“This is the 32nd package of sanctions by New Zealand against Russia, which is also a strong signal of support for Ukraine. Each sanction decision by partners brings real peace closer,” the Ukrainian president summed up.<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier, the EU officially lowered the price limit for Russian oil<\/a> : the new “ceiling” is $47.6 per barrel instead of the previous $60. The decision was made in the context of the 18th package of sanctions against Russia and is aimed at limiting the revenues of the aggressor country.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, as part of the sanctions, Japan lowered the maximum price for oil<\/a> from $60 to $47.6 per barrel.<\/p>\n

By the way, the Russian federal budget in August received about 35% less oil and gas revenues<\/a> compared to August last year.<\/p>\n
