The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the draft state budget for 2026 and is submitting it to the Verkhovna Rada for consideration.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This<\/span> was announced<\/span><\/a> by Prime Minister Yulia Svyridenko.<\/span><\/p>\n

In particular, the amount of state budget expenditures for the next year is 4.8 trillion hryvnias \u2014 415 billion hryvnias more than last year; the amount of revenues is 2 trillion 826 billion hryvnias, which is 446.8 billion hryvnias or 18.8% more than in 2025; the deficit is forecast at up to 18.4% of GDP.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe main priority of the budget is security and defense, our social stability. The Government directs all its own revenues and borrowings to the Defense Forces \u2014 financial support for the military and support for their families, strengthening air defense, and developing and manufacturing its own weapons, including drones,\u201d Svyrydenko emphasized.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thus, UAH 2.8 trillion will be allocated for defense needs<\/strong> (UAH 168.6 billion more than last year), and at least UAH 44.3 billion will be allocated for weapons production \u2014 for Ukrainian ammunition, missiles, missile defense, aviation and armored vehicles.<\/span><\/p>\n

The government has allocated UAH 265.4 billion for education<\/strong> : it is planned to increase the average salary for teachers, provide free meals for schoolchildren, and increase the size of scholarships.<\/span><\/p>\n

UAH 19.9 billion was allocated to the scientific sphere<\/strong> , which includes funding to support projects of young scientists and support the best scientific institutions; the creation of defense research centers; and the implementation of developments commissioned by businesses.<\/span><\/p>\n

Healthcare<\/strong> received UAH 258 billion from the state budget. These funds will be used to increase salaries for primary and emergency medical care doctors, doctors in front-line regions, and free medicines for citizens.<\/span><\/p>\n
